The most common agents are the M. fortuitum group, Mycobacteria chelonae, M. abscessus, Mycobacteria marinum ("fish tank granuloma" or "swimming pool granuloma"), Mycobacteria ulcerans ("Buruli ulcer," found in Australia and tropical countries) M. kansasii, M. haemophilum, M. porcinum, M. smegmatis, M. genavense, M. lacus, M. novocastrense, M. houstonense, M. goodii, M. immunogenum, and M. mageritense.
