Paleo Grubs Book Review
I have been interested in the Paleo lifestyle for quite some time due to the fact that I have been recently diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity, but had no idea of where I should start. While searching online for more information, I came across the Paleo Grubs website. I found it to be extremely informative, which made me want to convert my entire way of eating to the Paleo method that much more.
I didn’t know where to begin my Paleo meal-prepping journey, so I purchased the Paleo Grubs Book in hopes of finding a few recipes I would like. I was so surprised to find that I love MANY of the recipes instead of just one or two. I have a huge sweet tooth, and was concerned that I would have to give up desserts in order to properly follow this way of eating. I was so excited to find so many delicious dessert recipes in this book, which will make the transition to a strict Paleo lifestyle much easier.
The entire book is written in a clear and concise manner, which made it easy for a newbie like me to maneuver. It was broken down into 17 sections, making it easy to find meal ideas. I also received several free items when I purchased the book; a 10- week meal plan, an entire cookbook focusing on desserts, and a slow cooker meal cookbook.
The 10- week meal plan was so helpful. I thought it would be overwhelming to learn how to plan entire Paleo meals, but this guide made is easy. It also saved me a lot of time. I live a very hectic lifestyle, so it isn’t feasible for me to spend hours planning out a week’s worth of meals. This guide contained breakfast, lunch and even snack ideas to help me get started on my Paleo journey. The included shopping list was wonderful, as I didn’t even have to take the time to write out my own.
Because my time is so constrained, the slow cooker cookbook was also of great benefit. My family loves soups, and this cookbook contained several delicious soup recipes that is going to become staples in my household. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the slow cooker short ribs recipe, and has asked me to make this our go-to dish for Sunday dinner.
As I mentioned earlier, I love sweets. The additional dessert cookbook has allowed me to indulge in healthier versions of my favorite desserts, such as strawberry shortcake. I never knew that it could be created without grain-based flour, but was surprised at how delicious it was. The peach cobbler is a huge hit with my children. It is wonderful to be able to prepare healthy desserts for them so I don’t feel guilty about letting them indulge a little.
