Finding Virtual Support

You'll find an array of websites dedicated to infertility and IVF treatment, and many have facilities for people to chat and share their experiences. From the comfort of your home you can connect with people who really understand what you're going through because they've had similar experiences to yours — even though you don't know them or live on the same continent. If you like the idea of talking about your feelings and sharing your experiences of infertility and IVF while remaining anonymous, the internet is perfect for you.

If you enter 'infertility support' into your favourite search engine, you're likely to get more than ten million results! You can narrow your search down by adding 'Australia', but you'll still get more than two million results. So you may need to spend a bit of time figuring out which sites you find useful. In Appendix C, I list some Australian online support groups.
