period of overlapping data. An examination of the double mass plot shows that the Aisgill site receives on average more rainfall (as would be expected at higher elevations in this region), particularly in some events. Castlethwaite also receives slightly more rainfall than Scalebeck but there is no evidence for either site for significant long-term changes relative to the Scalebeck site.
