Conclusions And Contraindications

Open discussion of the fee payment is rare in general practice, which reflects a rarity of discussion of feelings about money in society at large. Therapy group members may demonstrate much resistance to the exploration of fee payment behaviors and their associated meanings. However, there aie no apparent contraindications to the use of this intervention. Its value will eventually be expressed by group members, after they experience a deepening of the money discussion in the group and its application to their outside lives. They realize that the fee payment is an important aspect of communication in the group, which furthers intrapsychic and interpersonal insight as well as practical problem solving.
