Wrist Dislocation

This injury is caused by falling on an outstretched hand. Most wrist dislocations involve the lunate bone of the proximal row of carpal bones and other bones. When the dislocation occurs, the affected bone is no longer properly articulating with adjoining bones. The injury affects the soft tissue surrounding the region of dislocation, including muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Thus numbness or paralysis below the dislocation may accompany the severe pain.

Dry needling acupuncture as an effective modality should be used immediately after the accident. Apply about two to three needles per square centimeter to the painful, numb, and bruised tissue in two sessions per week.
