H18 Iliotibial Cutaneous

This ARP is located on the lateral surface of the thigh, about halfway between the hip and the knee on the iliotibial tract. The sciatic nerve may send cutaneous branches to innervate the iliotibial tract.

The H18 iliotibial point is used in treating lower back and lower limb problems. As symptoms become worse or chronic, more sensitive points appear on the iliotibial tract. These secondary or tertiary points should be palpated and needled to achieve better and faster results. The needling depth can be all the way to the bone.
