Fracture of the Foot

Trauma to the bones of the foot or a fall, blow, collision or violent twisting can cause fracture in any of the 26 bones of the foot, but it is most common in the metatarsals. Female athletes with lower bone density are most susceptible to this injury. Severe pain, swelling, numbness, and possible deformity are associated with the injury.

Immediate medical attention and care are needed. Dry needling acupuncture can be used before and after emergency treatment and after surgery to reduce pain and promote healing. Needles can be applied directly into the inflamed, tender, swelling, and painful area. In addition, the treatment is used to balance the entire musculoskeletal system. Two treatment sessions per week should be provided.
