Elbow Fracture

Elbow fracture may be caused by a blunt force striking the elbow during contact sports, a fall directly onto the elbow, or torsion of the elbow beyond its normal range of motion. According to the location of the injury, the fracture can be classified as a distal humeral fracture, a radial fracture, or an ulnar fracture. The major symptoms are swelling and pain in the elbow region, loss of mobility, and deformity of the elbow.

Immediate medical care is needed. After emergency help, dry needling acupuncture can be used to reduce swelling and pain, and it accelerates healing in all cases. Needles can be applied to the painful, tender, and swollen tissues. In case of swelling, two to three needles per square centimeter may be used. Two treatment sessions per week should be offered.
